Flannel is a soft fabric with a surface covered with hairs (peach skin appearance) that gives a sense of comfort and warmth.
Originally flannels were made of wool, but it is now more common to see them made of cotton or synthetic fibers.
They are manufactured with little twist yarns to facilitate the process of brushing which is a mechanical process where a thin metal brush brushes the fabric to create fine fibers.
Typically, flannels can be one or double sided, depending on whether they have been brushed on one or both sides.
They are typically used in bedding and decorative tapestries of low usage.
