Twill (Serge)

28 September 2013
Twill or Serge is a fabric with a twill weave, producing typical diagonal lines. The weave is obtained by means of a step, forming diagonal stripes.

This cord is formed diagonally by crossing the warp with the weft combining more or less yarns and in equal or unequal distances from one ridge to another.

From these combinations and several others invented by manufacturers different names have arisen for the different twill qualities (Single line twill, Batavia twill, Double twill, Double sided twill, Levantine twill, Roman twill, Virginia twill).
