Cheviot

Originally an elastic, middleweight wool fabric, with a slightly shiny surface. It is somewhat stiff and even sharp to the touch.

It has a glossy appearance due to its twill weave (usually broken) that forms its characteristic herringbone pattern.

It is made from medium-fine carded yarn or thread. The name comes from the Cheviot sheep, whose wool is used to produce the fabric.
